Lament of the Wage Thief

This blog is an allegorical piece about wages being withheld from workers to further enrich overpaid CEOs, CFOs, and head executives.  It goes something like this:

The workers wanted paid sick leave.

"We cannot afford paid sick leave even though it's required by law in some countries where people are happier!" cried the wage thief as he gave himself another $5000 a month bonus.

The workers wanted higher wages like the one's their parents earned decades ago.

"We cannot afford a higher starting salary here! It costs too much!" whined the wage thief as he spent the money on more automation, more technology, and fancier toys for the office and other barely necessary to unnecessary accessories.

"I need maternity leave," implored the pregnant wife.

"Maternal leave?" snapped the wage thief. "You think just because I vote Republican that I care about family values. I just wanted the tax breaks!"

Thus is the life of a wage thief. The typical head of your company. The place where you work. Although you rarely meet this head hancho in real life, this is how most of them view their workers and why most of them hold the anti-worker political and social views they hold.

Now back to work!!! ( cracks whip )
