The Railroad Workers Strike

 The railroad workers got a raw deal this week. All they wanted was paid sick leave (which most developed nations outside the U.S. are required to have by law) added to their contract. But the government favored the greedy wealthy owner class over the workers once again. A worker uprising in America is long overdue. 

We need a worker uprising bigger than the one in the 1940s. We need to support the railroad workers and anybody who doesn't support the railroad strike is an enemy of the American worker.

The lobbyists and wealthy business owner class thinks they own America. They do not. The worker, the starving artist, the underpaid scientist. All these people have more talent than any of the CEOs and business owners in this country who are taking our rights as workers away. Most business owners don't know anything about being an engineer, an architect, an anthropologist, a scientist. They are limited to their own area of expertise and yet the system treats these ignoramuses who are often no wiser than the boss from the Dilbert comics as kings. The media puts them on a pedastal and declares them as gods. Most are glorified middle men. These wealthy business people and venture capitalists are only favored because we live in a corrupt system that favors snakes in fancy suits.

The railroad strikers need to dig their heels in deeper and refuse to accept this contract. If it crashes the economy so be it. No compromises for a raw deal like this or they'll think they can get away with giving railroad workers the bare minimum all the time! It's us versus them! 

We must stand in solidarity with the railroad workers of America. They are the backbone of our society and essential workers. 🇺🇸

The American 'Pipe' Dream

 I recently read an article that said that the jobs that created the middle class in America are dying. Thus hurting the American Dream. The American Dream. It was always temporary at best and a pipe dream at worst. It's called the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it. The people who believe in the American Dream the most are usually very sheltered middle to upper middle income folks who live very sheltered lives. They remain optimistic and naively trusting of a system that doesn't care about them any more than it cares about homeless veterans. Sure. The Luddites: A History Not Taught in Schools

 A history not taught in schools is the history of resistance to exploitation at the dawn of the industrial revolution. Individuals felt their trades were under threat as industry took away individual ownership over products. The unique talents of the weaver, the carpenter, the blacksmith, the furniture maker, the carver, and the cobbler were now owned by the rise of giant industry and the wealthy industrialists. Harming the livelihoods of individuals who mastered these trades. The biggest resistance to this change were the Luddites in Britain. They were angry that the factory owners were taking over their trades and lining their own pockets as owners of the new production lines.
