The American 'Pipe' Dream
I recently read an article that said that the jobs that created the middle class in America are dying. Thus hurting the American Dream.
The American Dream. It was always temporary at best and a pipe dream at worst. It's called the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it. The people who believe in the American Dream the most are usually very sheltered middle to upper middle income folks who live very sheltered lives. They remain optimistic and naively trusting of a system that doesn't care about them any more than it cares about homeless veterans. Sure. Ordinary folks are eager to help the homeless veterans but those elites in charge of our system certainly don't.
If the elite are willing to discard our veterans imagine what they'll do to us! Imagine how the scheming multimillaires, billionaires, and overpaid politicians will treat you.
Do they care that middle class jobs that pay more than $15 an hour are disappearing? Will they do anything? No. They care about their own greedy interests and would be more than happy to gut our wages and kill what they as wealthy elites view as the pesky middle class. We're on our own. The worker's revolution is and strong labor unions are the only way out of this debacle. We must use any means possible to get decent paying jobs back. Call, text, or email your local and state representatives. Harrass corporate lobbyists. Infiltrate the country clubs of the wealthy elite class! Use any means necessary to make decent wages the norm again.
If you look at footage of the fair labor movement of the 1930s and 1940s you will not see men who kowtow to the will of corporate interests like the weak, docile, indoctrinated men of today. You see strong union men who speak their minds and contradict the b.s. thrown at them by the head execs of corporations and industry. You see the strong unionized trucker or construction worker or laborer who contradicts the lies of the CFO, CEO, or self important business executive to his face!
We need that back in America badly! We must fight harder than we are to get it! Even if it means fighting our own friends and family. Sacrifices must be made for the greater good. Always.
